"Nothing Beats Queensland" Flood Recovery

Launching Sunday 20 March, Southern Queensland Country operators are encouraged to join in TEQ’s flood recovery campaign, created in partnership with SQCT and other SEQ affected regions.

TEQ’s message ‘Nothing Beats Queensland’ is focused on industry recovery across SEQ including our region. The campaign will share the message that our holiday destinations are open and ready, while highlighting the resilient spirit of Queenslanders. The campaign will be live across print, broadcast opportunities, radio, social media and digital, both interstate and intrastate, and of course will be supported via TEQ channels including social, email, website and PR.

'Great Queensland Getaway’ 2.0

Accommodation providers, tours, attractions and tourism experiences are invited to be part of Tourism & Events Queensland’s (TEQ) 'Great Queensland Getaway’ major national sales campaign.

The second phase of this campaign will be in market from 13-27 February via TV, radio, social media and digital to encourage holiday makers to travel to Queensland through the promotion of discounted holiday packages and direct operator deals on all tourism stays and experiences.

There is no charge for Southern Queensland Country Tourism (SQCT) members to take part in the campaign which is expected to significantly increase in overnight visitor expenditure for tourism businesses.


TEQ’s massive sales event - ‘Great Queensland Getaway’

When: 13 February to 27 February 2022

Who: Any tourism operator/accommodation listed on ATDW and bookable online, email or phone

What: Queensland.com is the call to action to find holiday ideas and deals which will be heavily marketed nationally. TEQ marketing includes press (print and online), TV, radio, social media and digital. Plus – SQCT operators offering deals in line with this campaign will be highlighted on southernqueenslandcountry.com.au.

What you need to do:

  • Update your ATDW listing by 9 February with an offer and information on what’s new at your venue.
  • Make your deal valid from 13 February, ideally to the end of June (at your discretion, please include any blackout dates)
  • Offer ideas:
    • Bundle your product or service with another product.
    • Offer a ‘money can’t buy’ experience - the quirkier the better. Make it something unique to you, and to our region, to stand out from the pack.
    • Value-add option. Such as stay 5 nights, pay for 4, or buy one tour, get one half price. The options are up to you.
    • Discount offer. A good % off always gets great interest in a sales event.

TEQ will also be highlighting select deals via media stories. This is a free opportunity at media's discretion so put together an option unique to you, that showcases our amazing region and its experiences. PLUS SQCT will be supporting operator deals on our website so get creative and load your deal now.
