Mel Porter is the General Manager of Porters Plainland Hotel, a third-generation family business situated in the Lockyer Valley growth corridor just an hour's drive west of Brisbane. Built in 1905 and in the Porter family since 1946, the Hotel is now a thriving regional hotel with a team of 130+.
Mel has extensive experience in Advertising & Marketing after working for almost a decade in the Advertising Agency space including six years at Publicis Mojo working across Retail & Tourism clients before returning to the family business in 2015. More recently Mel headed up the Lockyer Valley Tourism Association and led the merge of the LVT with the Lockyer Chamber of Commerce on which Mel is a current Committee member.
